About CoE :-
SITRA (The South India Textile Research Association) is an
internationally reputed textile research organization. Based on
the exemplary performance of SITRA in the field of medical
textiles, the Ministry of Textiles (MoT), Government of India
promoted establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for
medical textiles at SITRA under the Mini Mission I of Technology
Mission on Technical. Textiles (TMTT) which is promoted by the
office of the Textile Commissioner.
The activities of SITRA’s CoE-Medical
Textiles are aimed at providing the following services to
industry / educational institutions / individuals :

Testing and Evaluation of Medical Textile Products (CoE Physics
Lab, CoE Microbiology Lab, CoE Bio-Technology Lab, CoE
Analytical Chemistry Lab and CoE Polymer Lab )

Standards Formulation (BIS, International bodies)

Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)

Pilot Scale Production (Medical/Technical Textile Products such
as Face Mask, Sanitary Napkin, etc.)
